Melbourne’s consumer fashion event, Melbourne Fashion Week, was launched at Town Hall yesterday, revealing a program of over 150 events being held across the city over from August 31 – September 7.
For the 2018 event, Fed Square is delighted to be working with Melbourne Fashion Week to host a free Pop-Up Runway on September 4. Head down to Fed Square from 4pm – 4.15pm to see roving models showcasing looks from Melbourne’s new wave of emerging and independent designers and brands. This free pop-up runway will feature this season’s ready-to-wear looks.
Deakin Edge will also host the MFW Conversation Series. Presented by Creative Victoria and Melbourne Fashion Week, these morning conversations events will spark lively dialogue around fashion, retail, sustainability and design. Special guests and experts will lead the conversations on the ins and outs of exploring a career in fashion, and audiences can gain insights into ethical design, the future of the consumer experience and brand building. MFW Conversations run from September 3 – 6 in Deakin Edge.
Owned and delivered by the City of Melbourne, MFW is the hallmark consumer fashion event. Last year’s MFW attracted over 100,000 people and contributed $7.5m to Melbourne’s economy.
