Working at Fed Square

Looking for exciting, challenging career opportunities at Fed Square? You’ve come to the right place for more information.

Stretching from the high bank of the plentiful Birrarung, southward, the Melbourne Arts Precinct is a globally significant space of gathering and creativity, with Fed Square as its gateway.

This place has long brought people together, for the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people and visiting Kulin Nations over tens of thousands of years, and through successive waves of construction of the city of Melbourne.

The Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation (MAP Co) builds on these rich assets handed down by previous generations, in support of a bold contemporary vision.

MAP Co manages and operates Federation Square and is responsible for bringing to life a single continuous arts, civic, and cultural precinct stretching from Fed Square through Southbank. MAP Co also leads the $1.7b Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation (MAPT), Australia’s largest ever cultural infrastructure project, delivering The Fox: NGV Contemporary and the major rejuvenation of Arts Centre Melbourne, joined together by 18,000sqm of green public space. Once the transformation is complete, MAP Co will also manage and activate this new public space that will connect the Melbourne Arts Precinct in a seamless and immersive cultural experience and support biodiversity.

Now 20 years old, Federation Square is an iconic, heritage-listed site that is both the town square and heart of Melbourne. Alongside a rich, year-round program of events and activations, it is home to a range of tenants, from three of Victoria’s cultural agencies the Koorie Heritage Trust, NGV Australia and ACMI, to a range of food and beverage outlets along with multiple spaces to host cultural and commercial activity. Fed Square is a multi-purpose precinct that self generates all its revenue, which supports both its operations and capital works.
